We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Analyst, Commercial Analytics to join our team of analytics experts in the Commercial Excellence team at J&J Vision! The CE team’s responsibilities include forecasting, pricing and market share tracking across the J&J Vision portfolio of products with global sales of $5B.
Job Description:
The Lead Analyst will drive the delivery of business and market insights by preparing / cleansing data, building / refreshing dashboards, and conducting business analyses. You will primarily shape the data architecture, implement data engineering solutions and support data quality/management for global commercial data lake. You drive a culture empowered by data-driven insights and shape critical decision-making. You should be a solid team player and have a consultative approach to problem solving. You will work with the Global & Regional Commercial, Finance & Marketing teams to provide commercial analytics and insights by analyzing sales and market trends across products and regions. As a key member of our Global CE team, you will join a fast-paced team that enables analytically driven capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Data engineering & automation
Extract and analyze data directly from internal and external data sources; build data models and reusable datasets to support dashboarding and business performance tracking
Design and construct effective and reliable data engineering solutions with end-to-end project responsibility by closely coordinating with commercial analytics and visualization team
Identify continuous improvement opportunities for data solutions with focus on performance, scalability and maintainability
Write and maintain scripts to automate recurring data validation, cleaning, and aggregation workflows
Manage and own weekly, monthly and quarterly data operations activities with vital due diligence; develop solutions to improve data quality
Maintain documentation on data architecture, solutions and processes
Business Reporting & Dashboard Development
Develop comprehensive reports and presentations that transform complex data into clear, actionable insights
Build/maintain analytics dashboards and reports; manage refresh schedules
Develop / update dashboards to meet business needs and join business readouts
Lead documentation & enablement: glossary, SOPs, quick guides; draft release notes for updated dashboards; deliver user refreshers
Maintain business user access and conduct user training
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Finance, Marketing, Math, or related field. Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with production-grade data / BI systems plus stakeholder leadership
Expertise in cloud platforms – AWS, Azure; data engineering – SQL, Dataiku, Alteryx; visualization platforms – Tableau, Power BI; advanced analytics / data science exposure – Python, R
Experience with data modeling, ETL design, implementation, maintenance, SQL performance tuning and E2E process optimization
Able to work independently and under time pressure to deliver a process, investigating and solving data issues in an explainable way.
Strong data analytics skills, attention to detail with business/finance logic, and experience working across multiple levels of stakeholders to create context around key business drivers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate expertly with multiple business partners, and ability to prioritize simultaneously.
