This leader will play a critical role in strengthening governance and oversight of technology delivery risk across complex, large-scale initiatives. You will drive the evolution of Delivery Risk Management (DRM) function and capabilities by establishing standardized practices, leading a cohesive service catalog and operating model, and ensuring consistent risk visibility for senior leadership.
You will partner closely with CIO-aligned teams, risk and control partners, and program leadership to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate execution risks that could impact delivery outcomes. You will drive strong operational efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring that you maintain a strong grasp of key functional domains and activities that the team is responsible for.
The ideal candidate is a strategic operator and people leader with deep expertise in technology delivery, risk management, and governance in a highly regulated environment. You will influence across organizational boundaries, foster alignment, and enable scalable, efficient execution of risk and audit activities.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team of multiple levels of managers and individual contributors with focus on delivering service of moderate to high complexity for cross functional stakeholders and internal partners associated with the risk mitigation function or affected by its outcomes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk control development by overseeing strategy and execution of all activities
- Lead team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues related to higher risk deliverables; interpret and develop range of policies and procedures for functions with moderate to high complexity and risk
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior leadership
- Engage and influence business heads, regulators, control management, risk, legal, and audit partners to successfully ensure appropriate management of business risk
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in business group
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- 10+ years of risk management, business controls, or compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- 4+ years of experience owning and managing risk within delivery, including identification, assessment, mitigation, and escalation of risks impacting execution outcomes
- Strong understanding of integrating risk management into the technology delivery lifecycle and key processes
- Background in Technology risk management, audit remediation, or regulatory program management
- Experience building or scaling enterprise risk management or delivery oversight functions
- Knowledge of risk frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT, NIST) and control environments
- Familiarity with portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira, Clarity, ServiceNow, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data, metrics, and reporting tools to drive insights and decisions
