Lead AI Engineer
Team: Technology + Engineering
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team. This project lead role will require a mix of creative technology, R&D, collaboration, and hands-on development work to deliver AI-powered tools and experiences for our clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional contributors, including creative directors, UI designers, content designers, and producers. You will also play a pivotal role in representing Addition at a project level to our clients, where you will represent our work and team.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Leadership: Lead the project design and development of AI Systems to power internal workflows and tools, content at scale, and digital or physical experiences.
- Product Management: Oversee technical architecture, scoping, coding, code reviews, integration, and communication with internal and client technology stakeholders.
Coding: Develop rapid prototypes to facilitate team alignment, explore what’s possible, and contribute meaningful production code to projects to ensure their success.
- Productization: Help facilitate a repository of reusable code snippets, techniques, and libraries that can be applied to streamline the development of future projects and enable technology team members to operate more effectively.
- Quality and Safety: Work with internal and external QA and AI safety teams to ensure that products are delivered at the highest level of quality and AI safety.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience incorporating foundation models such as LLMs and Image Generation models into complex, multi-function AI Systems.
- 5+ years leading creative technology projects with cross-functional teams.
- 10+ years of experience developing software systems in a professional setting.
- A BS or MS in computer science or a similar field is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience architecting and developing AI Systems that employ an ensemble approach to combine multiple AI models
- Some expertise with Generative AI models such as LLMs and image and/or video-based Diffusion Models
- Experience using AI tools to assist in software development
- Fluency in front-end development techniques in React.js and related libraries such as NEXT.js
- Fluency in back-end development techniques in Python, as well as database technologies and cloud computing platforms
- Dev ops experience with database technologies and cloud computing platforms
- Creative Skills:
- Understanding of design thinking, storytelling, and a passion for innovative, interactive experiences.
- Communication:
- Excellent communicator, adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Skills Required
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years leading creative technology projects with cross-functional teams
- 3+ years incorporating foundation models (LLMs and image generation models) into complex AI systems
- Experience architecting and developing AI systems using ensemble approaches combining multiple models
- Expertise with generative AI models including LLMs and diffusion-based image/video models
- Fluency in front-end development with React.js and Next.js
- Fluency in back-end development with Python
- Experience with database technologies and cloud computing platforms
- DevOps experience related to databases and cloud platforms
- Experience using AI tools to assist in software development
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for client and cross-functional work
- BS or MS in Computer Science or similar (preferred)
