The Lead Administrator of Global payroll process & tax supports our global payroll compliance and tax operations. Works closely with the Payroll Director and Global Payroll Manager to ensure accurate payroll tax reporting and minimize compliance risks across our international entities.  Plays a key support role in an ongoing International Payroll Project, assisting leadership with the strategy, setup, and implementation of payroll processes across target countries.

  • Supports the research, design, and setup of payroll processes and tax structures in newly targeted countries. 
  • Coordinates with project stakeholders to aid in the seamless implementation of new international payroll operations. 
  • Participates in special project initiatives and ad-hoc compliance reviews related to global payroll scaling.
  • Conducts regular payroll audits to identify, resolve, and prevent compliance risks or delays in filings. 
  • Research and resolve any payroll tax discrepancies or calculation issues in a timely manner. 
  • Assists in evaluating and improving payroll tax processes with a focus on efficiency, precision, and automation. 
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all sensitive employee information and global payroll tax data.
  • Partners with external international payroll vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing of global payroll tax liabilities. 
  • Collaborates with HR and finance teams to gather, review, and maintain accurate employee payroll tax records, deductions, and benefits. 
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders and external providers (such as ADP) to apply for new tax identification numbers when entering new jurisdictions. 

Serves as an internal subject matter expert on international payroll tax, providing guidance and clear, timely updates to team members and external partners.

Qualifications:

  • Associates' Degree (U.S.)/College Diploma (Canada)
  • Possesses strong analytical capabilities, a deep understanding of multi-country payroll tax laws, and experience managing complex payroll data and reporting 
  • Proven experience working as a payroll analyst or tax analyst within a complex, multi-country global payroll environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in ADP Celergo and expert-level Excel skills.
  • Experience contributing to payroll implementations, country rollouts, or global payroll transition projects.
  • Deep understanding of international tax laws, statutory benefits, and global compliance regulations.
  • High analytical capacity with the ability to review large, complex payroll datasets, spot errors, and troubleshoot calculation discrepancies. 
  • Proven track record of managing high-level escalations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex data discrepancies and envision more efficient technical paths.
  • Exceptional ability to translate technical system requirements into simple instructions for non-technical users.
  • High level of self-motivation to drive improvements without the need for direct supervisory tasks.
  • Ability to travel 0-25%

Skills Required

  • 5-7 years progressive payroll experience with system implementation or process design
  • Advanced proficiency in UKG
  • Proficiency with Workforce Management (WFM) systems
  • Expert-level Excel skills
  • Proven track record managing high-level escalations and sensitive payroll issues
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex data discrepancies and design technical/process solutions
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical requirements for non-technical users
  • Self-motivation and ability to drive improvements independently
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
