Job Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of accounting functions, in accordance with procedures and appropriate segregation of duties. Provides support in all areas (i.e., general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliation, etc.). May assist in coordinating or prioritizing daily workload and delegation of assignments in a manner to ensure accurate and timely completion.
    • Accounts Receivable: Provide approval of grace period reinstatements including for exception cases.
    • Accounts Payable: Review and process approval of refunds of higher monetary value.
    • Account Reconciliation: Monitor suspense balances for system issues and account discrepancies troubleshooting and working with others to resolve.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of products, regulations, and processing procedures to effectively service customer inquiries of a complex nature and to comply with company, regulatory and department guidelines.
  • Participates in projects such as reviewing and/or testing impact to current policies/practices for system installs/upgrades, changes in regulatory environment, etc. Includes requirement gathering and testing of business applications.
  • May audit work of others providing feedback to management including recommendations for process improvements.
  • Provides training and technical advice to lower-level positions.
  • Maintains relationships with other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve problems. Includes written and verbal communication with customers.
  • Assist with providing support for activities with internal and/or external auditors in support of meeting compliance and regulatory requirements. Presents audit results to management.
  • May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or related discipline preferred.
  • 4 to 7 years of related experience. Previous experience in the banking or insurance industry preferred.
