Position Summary
The Lead Director, New Hire Success, is responsible for developing and overseeing the strategy, vision, and framework for onboarding and early engagement programs to ensure new hires are set up for long-term success. This role leads the New Hire Success function, managing a team to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions that drive performance, retention, and foster organizational values and culture. The Lead Director will work closely with senior stakeholders to align programs with business priorities, monitor effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
Strategic leadership and vision:

Define the overall strategy, framework, and roadmap for new hire onboarding and early engagement programs

Align onboarding programs with enterprise-wide learning strategies and role-specific requirements

Engage senior stakeholders to ensure organizational alignment and support for onboarding initiatives

Establish key success metrics and lead efforts to measure and enhance program impact
Program development and implementation:

Oversee the design and execution of standardized onboarding programs, curricula, and tools in collaboration with Learning Design and Delivery teams

Develop scalable processes and frameworks to support role-specific training, engagement, and early proficiency

Support the creation of job aids, SOPs, and toolkits to reinforce learning and performance expectations

Ensure alignment between onboarding content and organizational priorities, including compliance and operational excellence
Team leadership and development:

Lead and develop a team, providing direction, coaching, and performance management

Foster a collaborative culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement

Build capabilities within the team to deliver high-impact solutions and scale programs effectively
Performance measurement and continuous improvement:

Establish mechanisms to track and analyze new hire performance, retention, and engagement

Translate insights into program enhancements and long-term strategies
-
Partner with stakeholders to ensure smooth deployment of content and feedback loops for ongoing optimization

Required Qualifications
-
10+ years of professional experience in learning, talent management, organizational development, and/ or healthcare operations required

Proven experience designing and scaling onboarding and engagement programs

Strong team leadership and coaching skills, with experience managing high-performing teams
-
Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills
-
Data-driven mindset with experience in measuring program effectiveness and driving improvement
-
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
-
US work authorization
-
Someone who embodies being “Oaky”
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Oak Street Health field operations strongly preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
