Shipco Transport Inc., a leading international cargo transportation company, has an immediate opening at our CHI branch located in Franklin Park, IL for an experienced LCL Export Operations Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain relationships with customers, steamship lines, truckers and warehouse.
- Negotiating rates with vendors (steamship lines, truckers).
- Ensure Department emails are addressed timely by the team.
- Assist and coach Team members in problem solvingManaging Department time and attendance.
- Ensuring Department KPI’s are met.
- Decision maker for loading/rolling decisions where financial matters and customer requirements are considered.
- Maintain relationships with overseas agents and ensuring agent agreements are followed.
- Ocean carrier selection.
- Ensure shipments are processed in compliance with the laws and regulations governing for US Export Industry.
- Implement procedures to improve productivity, quality, efficiency and profitability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Ability to lead and manage small to mid-size team.
- Familiar with ocean container load planning.
- Functional knowledge of IMDG and CFR-49 regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment.
- Knowledge of geography.
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience.
