Layout Designer R34515
The Layout Designer support engineers with drawing layouts by utilizing computer-aided drafting software. This role will also be responsible for creating new and modified symbols of components accordance to the Oshkosh standards.
The Layout Designer supports order management and engineering teams by creating an initial 2D layout of a fire apparatus based of a specification list created by the customer. This role supports the layout drawing from initial bid through manufacturing, including layout creation and all necessary revisions.
The Layout Designer will learn about the apparatus at a broad level from the front to rear and is one of the few positions that is able to follow it through to manufacturing. This position will focus on the pumper product line.
YOUR IMPACT:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
· Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) systems to create 2D and 3D layouts, following the provided specification.
· Work with order management teams to create a layout best suited to the customer’s end goal.
· Collaborate with engineering teams to create a layout that is manufacturable while still meeting the customer’s needs.
· Self-check own work to ensure accuracy and organization, dimension and tolerance convention, and conformance with established CAD specifications and standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent* with two (2) years of experience in drafting/design.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
· Verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to adapt to a fast pace environment.
· Detail oriented.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

*Note: equivalent equates approximately four (4) years of on the job experience to one (1) year of formal education. External hires are not eligible for equivalency in place of required education.
Pay Range:
$50,400.00 - $77,200.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
