Lawyer / Legal Counsel

The Role

Grass Valley is looking for a practical and business-oriented lawyer to join our global Legal team.

This is a generalist in-house role supporting a broad range of legal matters across an international media technology business. The role will involve working closely with the Legal team and internal stakeholders across different regions, including EMEA, America and LATAM.

The successful candidate will support commercial contracts, corporate matters, legal administration, IP-related topics, HR / employment matters and other day-to-day legal questions. The role will also include direct engagement with internal business teams and, where required, customers and external parties.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in an international environment, can manage several matters at the same time, and is able to provide clear and practical legal support.
Responsibilities

• Review and draft a variety of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, SaaS, product sales, services, confidentiality and other business contracts.
• Support the Legal team on corporate governance, company administration and group projects.
• Assist with IP-related matters, including coordination of internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Support HR and employment-related matters in coordination with HR and local counsel where required.
• Provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders across regions.
• Help maintain and improve legal templates, workflows, repositories and internal processes.
• Coordinate with external counsel and internal teams on multi-jurisdictional matters.
• Support other typical in-house legal tasks as required by the business.

Qualifications

• Law degree and at least 4 years of legal experience.
• Experience in an international environment is mandatory, either in-house or at a law firm.
• Experience with commercial contracts and general legal support.
• Exposure to technology, SaaS, software, media technology or similar sectors would be an advantage.
• Experience in, or interest in, corporate, IP, HR / employment and legal operations matters.
• Strong communication skills in English, preferably C1 level or above.
• Familiarity with AI tools supporting legal work would be an advantage.
