We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal and Contract Engineer to join our team. The Legal and Contract Engineer will be responsible for managing all legal and contractual aspects of our projects, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating risks. Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Drafting and Review:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts, service agreements, supply agreements, joint venture agreements, and other project-related contracts.
- Ensure that all contracts are clear, concise, and enforceable, and that they accurately reflect the terms agreed upon by the parties.
- Legal Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including environmental regulations, health and safety laws, and international trade laws.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation and regulatory requirements that may impact the company's operations and contracts.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess legal and contractual risks associated with projects, including potential claims, liabilities, and disputes.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks, including the use of indemnities, warranties, and insurance provisions.
- Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and resolve contractual disputes, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation, as necessary.
- Work closely with external legal counsel when required to handle complex legal issues and disputes.
- Contract Administration:
- Oversee the contract administration process, including contract review, approval, execution, and storage.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, addressing any issues or deviations in a timely manner.
- Legal Advisory:
- Provide legal advice and support to project teams on contractual matters, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
- Conduct legal research and provide guidance on complex legal issues affecting the Oil & Gas sector.
- Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs for project teams on legal and contractual matters, promoting awareness and understanding of key issues.
- Maintain and update standard contract templates, guidelines, and best practices to streamline contract management processes.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal and
contract management, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong understanding of the Oil & Gas industry, including key players, market trends, and regulatory environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and negotiating complex contracts.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and contract management software.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Professional certifications such as APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) or similar are a plus.
- Experience with international contracts and cross-border transactions is highly desirable
