A private family is seeking an experienced Professional Laundress to oversee all aspects of garment care and wardrobe organization for their residences in Locust Valley, Long Island. The family already employs housekeepers for cleaning and is specifically seeking a dedicated laundry professional with extensive expertise in garment care, wardrobe maintenance, and closet organization. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional knowledge of fabric care and laundry techniques, while maintaining the highest standards of organization, discretion, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Manage all daily household laundry for a family of six.
- Provide expert care for delicate fabrics and linens.
- Wash, dry, steam, iron, and press garments using appropriate methods.
- Inspect garments for stains and determine proper treatment techniques.
- Fold and store clothing according to best practices.
- Organize and maintain closets, dressers, and wardrobes to exceptional standards.
- Rotate seasonal wardrobes and ensure clothing is properly stored and preserved.
- Monitor garment condition and notify the family of repair or maintenance needs.
- Maintain laundry equipment and ensure the laundry area remains organized and efficient.
- Independently prioritize and manage daily laundry workflow for a large household while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
