Leads the LATAM Business Control Management team and supports senior executives in maintaining a robust first-line risk and control environment. Responsibilities include risk assessment, control design, issue escalation and remediation, regulatory compliance monitoring, governance, reporting, CORE control evaluations, KPI/KRI analysis, and coordination with audit, compliance, product, finance, technology, and operations partners.

The Business Control Management (BCM) ED will lead the GCB LATAM team. The BCM’s primary responsibility is to support GCB Senior Business Executives to implement a robust first line of defense control environment with strong oversight and governance. In addition, he/she will interact with multiple line functions, including: Global BCMs, Audit, Compliance, Product and Financial Control, Business Management, WKO, Technology and Operations.  

Control Management focuses on four areas: 

  1. Control design and expertise
  2. Risks and controls identification/assessment
  3. Control breaks and resolution – Issue and Action plan management
  4. Control governance & reporting

Role responsibilities:

  1. Lead proper review, assessment and oversight of inherent and emerging risk and control issues.
  2. Escalate relevant issues and coordinate proper root cause analysis and resolution.
  3. Produce and present materials which provide clear insight and analysis into the current risk issues and trends relevant to the business.
  4. Work with business and support partners to develop and implement appropriate action plans.
  5. Monitor and support compliance with regulatory requirements (Cross border, Licenses & Registrations, Conflicts, etc.)
  6. Understand the local regulatory compliance landscape and support regulatory change governance.
  7. Perform ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support control-related programs and strategies
  8. Provide control related due diligence to business units to foster a proactive risk and control culture.
  9. Help establish/reinforce control governance and reporting to identify meaningful metrics to inform on health of operational risk and control environment; escalate control breaks based on key reporting indicators; and provide input to control committees and forums.
  10. CORE (Control and Operational Risk Evaluation): perform and document control evaluations. Participate in global CORE governance meetings.
