As a Senior LANSA Developer, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Visual LANSA, RDML, and RDMLX.
- Build and enhance business logic, screen development, and reusable LANSA components.
- Develop and maintain applications within the IBM i (AS/400/iSeries) environment.
- Manage batch jobs, job queues, and message queues for business-critical processes.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex DB2 SQL queries.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, performance issues, and system defects.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver high-quality software enhancements and releases.
- Ensure application reliability through system monitoring, testing, and continuous improvement.
What you bring to the table:
- 8+ years of demonstrable experience in LANSA application development.
- Strong expertise in Visual LANSA, RDML, and RDMLX programming.
- Solid experience with the IBM i (AS/400/iSeries) platform, in both administration and development.
- Good knowledge of DB2/400 databases, SQL development, and query optimization.
- Experience with LANSA Repository concepts and enterprise application architecture.
- Knowledge of batch processing, job scheduling, and message queue management.
- Strong understanding of data modelling and troubleshooting production databases.
You have the ability to:
- Develop scalable and maintainable LANSA solutions for enterprise applications.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Effectively troubleshoot complex application, database, and IBM i performance issues.
- Optimize SQL queries and improve overall database performance.
- Manage multiple priorities while delivering solutions within an Agile environment.
- Work independently on both production support and new development initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with various technical and business stakeholders.
