Support to Technicians:
- Assist with simple mechanical tasks such as guard removal/installation and tool retrieval
- Organize and stage parts to ensure technicians have what they need, when they need it
- Move used parts and materials in and out of the shop to maintain smooth workflow
- Prepare and clean work areas to minimize waste and waiting time
Equipment & Facility Operations:
- Safely operate floor sweepers, forklifts, and skid steers
- Wash and clean equipment and service trucks
- Move equipment in and out of bays to maintain schedule adherence
5S & Continuous Improvement:
- Perform daily 5S activities:
- Sort: Remove unnecessary items
- Set in Order: Organize tools and work areas
- Shine: Clean equipment, floors, and bays
- Standardize: Follow established work procedures
- Sustain: Maintain and improve workplace standards
- Participate in kaizen—identify and communicate opportunities to reduce waste and improve flow
- Support safe, consistent, and standardized shop operations
General Duties:
- General cleaning of shop, yard, tools, and equipment
- Assist with garbage removal, material handling, and small tasks that support team efficiency
- Uphold a safe working environment at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma (Grade 12)
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn standardized work
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
- Strong sense of organization, cleanliness, and safety
- Experience with shop equipment is an asset; training provided
Important Information:
- This position is based in Mildred Lake on a 14x14 Shift. (Days and Nights may be required)
- Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
- Physical requirement ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs.
- Valid Driver's License with successful recent driver abstract, due to safety requirements must be minimum 21 years of age
