What will this role achieve?
We are currently recruiting for an exciting key role at our Carlisle factory site. The Labour Coordinator is an important role, with the primary goal of ensuring we have sufficient labour to keep the factory running! Reporting into the Labour Manager, this role will interact with stakeholders across the factory, from shopfloor workers to management, and we are looking for someone who is proactive, forward thinking and works to a high level of accuracy and speed. This is a collaborative role, working collectively site teams to ensure the provision and deployment of skilled and number balanced labour.
What will be your key deliverables?
- Work with the site teams to ensure base data and framework set up is maintained to deliver 90% auto deployment and accurate labour utilisation reporting.
- Auditing key elements confidential data to high accuracy.
- Setting up, developing processes that support the flow of labour availability and requirement data into SAP
- Be a key champion of our labour management (LM) processes and ensuring adequate training documents are provided and kept up to date.
- Ensuring robust trained cover of LM deployment and reporting processes.
- Liaise with the Team Managers to ensure they have sufficient skills and absence cover within their team, making any adjustments as required.
- Support the Occupational Health and Wellbeing team, Human Resources, and Team Managers with managing the rehab and restrictions process and those within it.
- Work collectively with Operational Planning, the manufacturing and site supply chain team to ensure schedule smoothing to optimise labour utilisation.
- Reliably work as part of a cross-functional team to meet site metrics
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the end-to-end processes on site.
- Have the capability to provide cover for other key supply chain roles on site by developing a robust understanding of all other systems and processes.
- Understand and interpret various systems and reports to determine tonnage and volume to be rolled and collaborate with the planning team to mitigate any upcoming risks and clearly communicate any capacity issues or constraints on a daily, weekly, medium basis.

- Knowledge of basic principles of a food manufacturing environment
- Proven cross functional impact and understanding from a previous role
- Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
- Experience if using Microsoft Office packages
- Strong administration skills with the ability to analyse data quickly and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Brilliant stakeholder management at all levels
Desirable
- Basic Food Hygiene Training experience
- Experience of using Absence Manager
- A learning mindset and agile thinking would be advantageous
- Experience of working in a fast paced environment
What will the interview process be?
- 1st stage interview – 45 minutes competency-based interview based on our company values and your experiences.
- 2nd stage interview – 60 minutes – a technical interview to understand your skill set/case study or presentation interview.
pladis does also use both Psychometric and Aptitude tests to support our processes so you may be asked to complete these as part of your process. Some processes may differ, but we will keep you updated!

This role is Monday to Friday on a Double Days rotating shift pattern
