We are currently hiring a Lab Tech 6 Machinist to join our Monroe, North Carolina facility. The Lab Tech 6 Machinist position is critical for testing new and existing materials. By precisely machining sample parts, it allows our engineers to properly evaluate materials' strength, durability, and other properties. This testing helps ensure ATI’s products meet strict quality standards.
As a Lab Tech 6 Machinist you will be responsible for machining and preparing mechanical samples for testing using various machines like grinders, milling machines and CNC machines.
This is a night shift position.
Skills:
- Proficient in precision measuring techniques using tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Demonstrated ability to perform calculations involving fractions and decimals.
- Strong reading comprehension skills with the ability to understand and follow written instructions.
- Sound judgment and the ability to plan, organize and control multiple activities and the ability to multi-task and manage time requirements is expected.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to interact well with employees, and cross functional teams are essential.
Additional Responsibilities
- Set-up and operate lathe, cylindrical and surface grinders, milling machine, broader, drill press and other machine tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of machinist or CNC experience
