Position Summary
The Laboratory Supervisor is a hands‑on leader who oversees daily operations in the QC Laboratories—including wet chemistry, mechanical testing, and analytical testing—while stepping in to perform laboratory work when needed. You’ll manage a team of Laboratory Technicians, ensuring they are well‑trained, technically strong, and equipped to support fast‑paced production and quality demands.

In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure laboratory testing is accurate, safe, and compliant; equipment is maintained and calibrated; and documentation meets rigorous quality standards. Your leadership helps maintain laboratory capability, deliver reliable analytical results, and support critical decisions that shape product quality and production flow.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As the Laboratory Supervisor, you will oversee daily QC lab operations, ensuring testing is performed accurately, safely, and in compliance with procedures and quality standards. You will manage laboratory workflow, assign tasks, and support technicians through coaching, training, and performance guidance. You’ll also perform hands‑on testing when needed, troubleshoot analytical issues, and communicate results with engineering, production, and QC teams.

In this role, you’ll maintain equipment readiness, coordinate calibrations, and ensure documentation, data, and records meet audit and regulatory requirements. You will drive continuous improvement by refining processes, evaluating new technologies, and updating laboratory procedures. Your decisions directly influence testing accuracy, equipment reliability, staff performance, and overall laboratory effectiveness.

We’d Love to Hear from Candidates with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Technology, or related field; OR an Associate degree with laboratory experience;
    OR a high school diploma with 3+ years of QC laboratory experience
  • Experience performing laboratory testing in wet chemistry, analytical techniques, and/or mechanical testing
  • Supervisory or lead experience preferred; working‑lead roles welcome
  • Experience with calibration activities, troubleshooting equipment, and documentation control
  • Experience in a regulated environment (nuclear, aerospace, medical device) desired.

A Successful Candidate Also Brings:

  • Strong understanding of laboratory methods, scientific equipment, contamination control, and analytical practices
  • Ability to mentor and evaluate laboratory staff
  • Skill in spotting data anomalies, conducting measurement system analysis, and interpreting results
  • Ability to write and revise procedures and technical reports
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills for data evaluation
