Role Summary:
The Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for managing and supervising the daily operations of the Environmental Laboratory, ensuring the delivery of accurate, reliable, and timely analytical testing services. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, quality standards, and health, safety, and environmental regulations while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and supervise all laboratory operations, including sample receipt, testing activities, data management, reporting, and result delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems, ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
• Oversee laboratory equipment performance, preventive maintenance programs, calibration activities, and technical integrity.
• Lead, train, and develop laboratory personnel through competency assessments, performance monitoring, and continuous professional development.
• Manage laboratory resources, including consumables, reagents, chemicals, spare parts, and testing supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Maintain laboratory documentation, records, and data control systems to ensure traceability, accuracy, and audit readiness.
• Coordinate with clients and regulatory authorities regarding technical matters, analytical results, and laboratory-related inquiries.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, modernization of laboratory technologies, and expansion of testing capabilities.
• Ensure safe laboratory operations through effective implementation of risk controls, PPE requirements, and safety procedures.
Requirements
Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited environmental laboratory, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in environmental analytical testing and laboratory operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, including ICP-OES, GC-MS, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, TOC, and related laboratory systems.
• Proven knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, laboratory quality management systems, and accreditation processes.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and laboratory data management practices.
Skills Required
