DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently performing analyses for which the employee is qualified, in accordance with established guidelines, including:
- Collecting data.
- Evaluating the collected data.
- Sorting and collecting test samples.
- Checking whether samples comply with the required standards.
- Processing samples in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
- Recording results on laboratory worksheets and ensuring that all information is completed accurately, consistently, and in full.
- Drawing conclusions based on one's own findings.
- Reporting irregularities or other relevant information to the (Assistant) Laboratory Manager;
- Ensuring a proper handover of work and information to the next shift.
- At the discretion of the (Assistant) Laboratory Manager, one or more analysts may be assigned responsibilities in the areas of quality assurance, special analyses, emergency response, analyst replacement, and other related duties.
- Following equipment workflows and procedures, reading and adhering to operating instructions when using equipment.
- Ensuring the correct use and maintenance of the workspace and laboratory equipment (good housekeeping).
- Complying with the organization's rules, procedures, and guidelines.
- Carrying out assigned tasks, instructions, and agreed-upon actions.
- Making suggestions to the (Assistant) Laboratory Manager for improvements relating to personal performance, the department, and/or the company.
- Maintaining professional knowledge and technical expertise.
- Keeping the laboratory orderly and clean.
- MLO/HLO qualification in Analytical Chemistry (secondary or higher professional laboratory education).
- VCA Basic Safety Certificate.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written.
- Team player.
- Interacts with colleagues and external parties in a professional and businesslike manner.
- Committed and engaged.
- Service-oriented.
- Work may be performed during both day shifts and rotating shift schedules.
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
