Position Summary:

Discovery Life Sciences is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Associate – Histology to support the development of our world-class FFPE Biorepository. This role is essential in preparing, organizing, and quality-controlling tissue samples that directly support research efforts worldwide. Working closely with the Pathology and Product Management teams, the Laboratory Associate will help ensure accurate sample handling, documentation, and compliance with all regulatory and privacy standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced laboratory environment, brings strong organizational and technical skills, and is eager to grow within a collaborative team dedicated to advancing patient-focused research.
 

A Day in the Life of a Laboratory Associate at Discovery Life Sciences:

• Support Pathology workflows through the Whole Slide Imaging digital platform, including case creation and batch management.
• Perform accurate sample filing, tracking, and pseudonymization while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate daily with pathologists, laboratory teams, project managers, and internal partners to ensure smooth study and inventory operations.

Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

• Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in a life science
• Previous Histology or Pathology background preferred
• Ability to handle high stress situations with ease while maintaining a positive and productive attitude
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent computer stills to include Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• SalesForce.com experience preferred
• Must have a willingness to be a great teammate

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the quality of all services, data, and information being sent to customers and pathologists
• Ensure that all HIPPA requirements are followed
• Pseudonymization of samples
• Display key attention to detail while handling samples
• Create and manage cases and review batches in image viewing platform
• File inventory samples in alphanumerical order
• Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards within the FFPE Department
• Collaborate with Pathologists, laboratory services, IT, and Project Managers to identify, prevent and resolve problems
• Collaborate with company departments, clients, and vendors through email and video meetings in a professional manner
• Edit, create, and manage excel spreadsheets and generated system reports
• Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the company and its operations

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. • Flexible work schedule, start time between 7am and 9am local time
