Laboratory Assistant

The Lab Assistant is responsible for conducting laboratory tests on petroleum, petrochemical products, biofuels, and solid fuels in accordance with standardized procedures (e.g., DIN, ASTM, ISO). The role includes ensuring compliance with safety regulations, documenting test results, calibrating equipment, and adhering to quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts.

• Perform tests according to standardized methods (DIN, ASTM, ISO) and work instructions.

• Conduct laboratory analyses on petroleum, petrochemical products, biofuels, and solid fuels.

• Accurately document test results using company software and established protocols.

• Perform equipment calibrations according to prescribed procedures.

• Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and maintain high-quality work standards.

• Continuously update knowledge and skills within the field.

• Follow company safety regulations and perform all tasks in a safe manner.

• To always respect and protect company and client confidentiality.

• Conduct all work in compliance with Core Lab’s quality assurance system.

• Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to operational excellence.

• Ideally, a technical or laboratory-based education.

• Experience in ICP/AAS, GC, and wet chemistry is an advantage.

• Basic proficiency in English and computer literacy.

• Strong mathematical skills.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Valid work permit for Germany.

• Good verbal and written proficiency in German (B1 level) and basic English (A2 level).

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Familiarity with laboratory sample handling and documentation.

• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Zusammenfassung

Der Laborassistent ist verantwortlich für die Durchführung von Labortests an Mineralöl-,

petrochemischen Produkten, Biokraftstoffen und festen Brennstoffen gemäß standardisierten

Verfahren (z. B. DIN, ASTM, ISO). Die Aufgaben umfassen die Einhaltung von Sicherheitsvorschriften,

die Dokumentation von Testergebnissen, die Kalibrierung von Geräten und die Sicherstellung der

Qualitätsstandards. Diese Position erfordert hohe Aufmerksamkeit für Details, Vertraulichkeit sowie

die Bereitschaft, flexible Arbeitszeiten einschließlich Wochenend- und Nachtschichten zu

übernehmen.

Aufgaben & Verantwortlichkeiten

• Durchführung von Tests gemäß standardisierten Methoden (DIN, ASTM, ISO) und Arbeitsanweisungen.

• Analyse von Mineralöl-, petrochemischen Produkten, Biokraftstoffen und festen Brennstoffen im Labor.

• Präzise Dokumentation der Testergebnisse mithilfe der Firmensoftware und festgelegter Protokolle.

• Kalibrierung von Laborgeräten gemäß vorgeschriebenen Verfahren.

• Sicherstellen einer termingerechten Bearbeitung der zugewiesenen Aufgaben bei gleichbleibend hoher Qualität.

• Kontinuierliche Weiterbildung und Aktualisierung der Fachkenntnisse.

• Einhaltung der Sicherheitsvorschriften des Unternehmens und sichere Durchführung aller Tätigkeiten.

• Wahrung der Vertraulichkeit von Unternehmens- und Kundendaten.

• Durchführung aller Arbeiten gemäß dem Qualitätssicherungssystem von Core Lab.

• Übernahme zusätzlicher Aufgaben nach Bedarf, mit Anpassungsfähigkeit und Engagement für betriebliche Exzellenz.

Qualifikationen

• Idealerweise eine technische oder laborbezogene Ausbildung.

• Erfahrung in ICP/AAS, GC und Nasschemie von Vorteil.

• Grundlegende Englischkenntnisse und PC-Kenntnisse.

• Gute mathematische Fähigkeiten.

• Gültiger Führerschein.

• Flexibilität für Nacht-, Wochenend- und unregelmäßige Schichten.

• Gültige Arbeitserlaubnis für Deutschland.

Kenntnisse, Fähigkeiten & Eigenschaften

• Gute mündliche und schriftliche Deutschkenntnisse (B1) sowie grundlegende Englischkenntnisse (A2).
