EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) in Denver. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. 

Essential duties and responsibilities 
Preparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteria
Classical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysis
Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory  equipment as needed
Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager 

Qualifications

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Life Science is required, preferably in Biology or Microbiology 
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship
Laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus
Experience with spore traps, direct microscopic exam, other culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plus

Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practices
Ability  to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Effective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistance


Available shift:
Positions is full-time time Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Candidate currently living within a commutable distance of Denver are encouraged to apply
