LOCATION & POLICY ON REMOTE WORK

This position will work out of our Watertown, Massachusetts Headquarters. Must be able to start between 7:30 - 8:30 am on certain days of the week. Our beautiful office space has free, ample parking with a complimentary shuttle from Harvard Square and is on multiple bus lines, with the cost of public transit covered by Addgene.

The Role:

The Lab Technician, Viral Vector Production and QC, will produce viral particles for order fulfillment and perform viral vector-related quality control assays in order to meet the growing demands of the scientific community. 

To Succeed in the Role, You Will: 

  • Produce AAV and lentiviral particles from expression plasmids
  • Determine titer and conduct quality control of viral particles
  • Organize and track samples during production and storage
  • Test and optimize protocols for production and quality control of viral particles
  • Support lab operations, including inventory management, solution preparation, and standard lab tasks 
  • Assist with process development as relevant
  • Lead and participate on special projects as needed

Skills and Competencies:

Candidates should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, organized individuals who want to be a part of Addgene’s mission. Specific qualifications include:

  • BA/BS in Biology or life science discipline or Associate Degree/Certification with 2+ years of experience.
  • Familiarity with sterile technique
  • Experience with tissue culture and viral production preferred
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English; strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with general computer software 
  • Able to start between 7:30 - 8:30 am on certain days of the week
