About the Role

We are looking for a Grave (9pm-5:30am) Shift Lab Production Supervisor to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. This position will oversee department workflows, equipment, team members, and quality. In this role, you will supervise a team of 40+ technicians in a state of the art and digital-only facility in Lehi, Utah. You will help ensure that orders are fabricated at the highest quality standards per customer deadlines.

What You'll Do:

  • Administrative Tasks: Perform admin duties such as case flow tracking, lagger/delinquency reports and interdepartmental comms for better delivery as needed and professionally.

  • Master in parts allocation, case flow routing and manufacturing processes

  • Scale: Continuously seek opportunities to improve workflows and processes for optimal efficiency and scalability.

  • Problem Solve: Quickly troubleshoot and solve people, process, and technology issues as you operate within a large scale and fast paced dental lab.

  • Quality Adherence: Monitor and enforce adherence to strict manufacturing quality standards. (e.g., abutment finishing, stain & glaze protocols) 

  • Inventory Monitoring: Optimize workflows to ensure your department properly tracks key inventory. (e.g., hand tools, stain, PPE) and re-supplies as needed

  • Supervise: Lead, scale, and continuously train a team of 40+ technicians as they execute daily operational tasks.

  • Collaborate: Work with other teams to proactively identify and address high priority improvement opportunities.

  • Data Collection: Prepare reports & collect data for day-to-day tasks that may be used to monitor and measure success.

  • Responsible for coaching, education, and necessary discipline of staff along with related documentation.

  • Establish training and development plans for employees; coordinate internal and external training.

  • Supervise daily work of all staff, assisting in problem solving.

  • Take immediate steps to remove obstacles and eliminate unnecessary downtime in order to achieve production goals.

  • Verify materials on production jobs, release all jobs to the floor by machine/department/material etc.

  • Job closing/completing, (labor, job, qty's, time) work with accounting as needed.

Other Responsibilities

  • Consult with other shifts to ensure production handovers are effective

  • Analyze production activities, then recommend or implement corrective actions

  • Coordinate cross training with the leads on machines, per the business needs

  • Maintain daily metrics of production goals vs. achievements; analyze shortfalls and document causes

  • Lead 5S in designated departments

  • Perform other duties as assigned
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing and 2 years of related experience in a leadership role

  • Experience working with HR to effectively manage employees in the areas of training, 1:1s, hiring, terminations, and performance improvement

  • Microsoft Office

  • ERP is a plus

  • 5S/lean manufacturing/Kaizen/Material flow

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Possess strong leadership characteristics

  • Able to multi-task and react in a fast-paced environment (wear multiple hats, adapt to change fast)

  • Able to work under pressure and be consistent in following procedures while still being flexible

Compensation Range: $90K - $120K
