The Role:

MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking a Lab Scientist to join our team of professionals. We are a CAP accredited, 24/7 lab that is responsible for over 1 million tests annually for the central Maine Community. The Opportunity:

Heroes work here! MaineGeneral Health is offering an exciting opportunity to work in our state-of-the-art laboratory as a Lab Scientist.

MGH is a teaching lab. We have three amazing campuses in the Augusta and Waterville areas.

The Work:

  • Serves as a consultant to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed.

  • Performs precise diagnostic/analytic testing and collection of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results.

  • Performs and evaluates quality control testing and executes instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity for test methods.

  • Provides excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all laboratory personnel, internal and external customers.

  • Utilizes problem solving and critical thinking to ensure quality management standards are met.

You Have:

  • Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists -; Medical Laboratory Technician: MLT (ASCP)

  • OR Medical Laboratory Scientist: MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) required

  • OR Certification by American Medical Technologists -; Medical Laboratory Technician: MLT (AMT)

  • OR Medical Technologist: MT (AMT) required

  • 3-5 years of microbiology culture plate reading preferred

Compensation Information:$27.34 - $47.85

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
