Amentum is seeking a Software Laboratory Senior IT Specialist to support our team in Dahlgren, VA.
Strong candidates will be able to provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation. Typically requires specialization in particular software or business application utilized in an end user environment.
Responsibilities include:
Keeps abreast of technological developments and applications. Provides technical leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
Performs the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs
Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff
Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues
Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
Minimum Requirements and Skills:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline with SIX (6) years of professional technical experience is desired.
In lieu of a college degree, EIGHT (8) years of experience in Naval Tactical Systems or Information Technology that includes SIX (6) years of experience demonstrating an established knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to specific technical disciplines of the SOW will be sufficient.
Requires a DoD 8570.01-M or successor Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification.
Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
CompTIA Network+ Certification.
Experience with Nessus and ACAS, Strong knowledge of STIG compliance and NIST 800-53 frameworks. CCNP (or CCNA) or able to obtain withing 6 months of start date.
Proficiency in network security technologies—firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Experience with Cross-Domain Solution(s) configuration and review.
Compensation Details:
US: $130,000 to $150,000
