When you work as a Lab Assistant in the Pharma LC-MS/MS group at KCAS, you get to further our mission by supporting the Pharma Operations group in ensuring timely completion of contracted services by providing specialized support as needed.

The Pharma LC-MS/MS lab team uses their knowledge in GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and GCP (Good Clinical Practice) methods to support clients’ regulatory submissions for drug discovery, preclinical, and clinical studies, including bioanalysis of drugs and metabolites, biomarkers, and active endogenous compounds in biological fluids and tissues.

In this role, we will rely on you to:

  • Check general reagents, solutions and materials for expiry and discard or sequester as appropriate 
  • Monitor and prepare Pharma department-specific solutions, ensuring on-hand minimum volume is maintained 
  • Inventory, track, and verify return of Pharma glassware for the team from the washing spaces 
  • Clean glassware as necessary for continued preparation of solutions 
  • Perform daily balance verification, pH meter daily calibration, Artel initialization procedure, pipette verifications as needed, and additional equipment cleaning as needed 
  • Promptly report issues with equipment or lab supplies or other items to appropriate personnel, including management 
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory cleanliness, empty waste receptacles, perform general tidying, stocking supplies as needed, and organization of laboratory spaces (including refrigerators and freezers) 
  • Assist Metrology department with small lab equipment maintenance 
  • Provide additional laboratory support for Pharma Operations, as assigned by management 

To qualify specifically for this role, you will have:

  • Associates degree 
  • Experience with Scientific or LIMS software preferred 
  • Experience working with bloodborne pathogens and PPE 
  • Relevant regulatory experience (e.g., GLP) 
  • Previous work experience in a CRO (Contract Research Organization) is a plus
