The Laboratory Analyst I is responsible for conducting routine and advanced analytical testing ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires adherence to documented procedures, accurate data processing, and collaboration with senior staff to support laboratory operations and client reporting.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Conduct routine analytical tests and procedures following documented work instructions.
- Ensure all work is performed within allocated time schedules and in compliance with approved QA procedures.
- Report any non-conformances, quality issues, or safety concerns to supervisors, taking proactive steps to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship, ensuring all work meets company and client expectations.
- Follow company safety regulations and actively contribute to a safe working environment by identifying and addressing unsafe practices.
- Assist senior staff with the preparation of client reports, ordering supplies, coordinating lab activities, and training as required.
- Maintain accurate lab records, forms, and administrative documents to ensure proper documentation of work.
- Seek clarification from senior staff before commencing work if instructions are unclear.
- Participate in the general operation of the laboratory, contributing to continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a chemist.
- At least 2 years of experience in a fluids laboratory, including analytical testing and data processing.
- A combination of education and experience that meets company standards may also be considered.
- Competence in routine analytical procedures and the ability to perform laboratory tasks independently.
- Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
