JOB SUMMARY
The Los Angeles Kings are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a part-time position of Back-up Mascot Performer & Assistant within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. We are looking for a high energy, organized, people-oriented candidate to assist in the growth of the mascot program for the LA Kings. This candidate will perform highly physical activities in diverse environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Learn dynamics of the character, Bailey, to serve as back-up performer, when needed.
- Act as the primary mascot handler at LA Kings home games with duties including, but not limited to:
- Ensure the completion of all in-game activations
- Assist in the set-up, completion, and clean-up of all mascot skits
- Act as primary method of communication between Bailey and the control room
- Interact with all fans to ensure a positive gameday and Bailey experience for all
- Assist in content ideation and creation
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of all mascot props and costumes.
- Assist the mascot, Bailey, as the primary handler at Kings community events and appearances throughout the season.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous mascot experience required.
- Candidate must be in good physical condition and able to perform in a full body mascot costume.
- Ability to receive and implement instruction.
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills preferred.
- Ability to contribute to creative content and skit ideation.
- Preferred height between 5’8”-5’10”
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and work outdoors in inclement and/or hot weather.
- Ability to operate company vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license
Pay Scale: $25.00
