Job Summary
The LA Galaxy, Backup Mascot performer is responsible for creating memorable fan experiences, engaging with guests of all ages, and representing the club with professionalism both in and out of costume. This role brings the organization's brand to life through high‑energy, family‑friendly entertainment at games, community events, and promotional appearances. The performer must maintain character integrity, deliver consistent performance quality, and support the club's mission to enhance fan engagement and community connection.
Essential Functions
- Perform as the team mascot during home games, delivering high energy interactions, skits, and in game promotions.
- Represent the organization at schools, charity events, sponsor activations, and media opportunities.
- Interact with fans of all ages through photos, autographs, crowd work, and improvisational moments.
- Maintain character integrity, body language, and personality consistent with brand guidelines.
- Properly maintain, clean, and store mascot costume; report repairs or replacements needed.
- Participate in rehearsals, develop new routines, and collaborate with Game Presentation staff on creative content.
- Navigate crowds safely, manage high traffic areas, and adjust performance based on environment and audience.
- Uphold organizational values, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalency
- 2-4 years: Mascot Experience (College or Professional)
- Demonstrates the ability to deliver high‑energy, engaging character performances that align with brand expectations.
- Exhibits interpersonal skills when interacting with guests of all ages to create memorable fan experiences.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs unassisted, work in heat within a full body costume, and stand/walk for extended periods of time up to 3-hours.
- Ability to develop new skits, comedic moments, and fan engagement ideas.
- Demonstrates reliability, confidentiality, and ability to represent the organization positively.
- Demonstrates strong awareness of surroundings, crowd dynamics, and safety considerations to ensure positive and secure interactions.
- Ability to work closely with Game Presentation, Marketing, Partnership, and Community Relations teams.
- Proficient in social media preferred
Payscale: $50.00/hour
Bonus: This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
Benefits: Part-time: This position may be eligible for benefits (ACA qualification).
