Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced L3 Sybase DBA (7–10 years) to support critical production databases, lead complex troubleshooting, and manage Sybase migrations, replication, performance tuning, and patching. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Sybase ASE/Replication Server, Unix/Linux environments, and scripting, with the ability to operate in 24x5 BAU environments and resolve high‑severity issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L3-level support for Sybase ASE and Replication Server in production environments.
- Perform Sybase migrations, patching, upgrades, and environment maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex database issues, performance bottlenecks, and system errors.
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and database health checks.
- Support 24x5 BAU operations, including incident management and root cause analysis.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams during issue resolution.
- Create and maintain database scripts and automation for operational efficiency.
- Ensure database reliability, availability, and adherence to security standards.
Required Skills and Qualification
- 8+ years of hands‑on experience as a Sybase DBA.
- Strong expertise in:
- Sybase ASE administration
- Replication Server configuration and troubleshooting
- Sybase migration, patching, and upgrades
- Deep knowledge of Sybase internals and performance tuning.
- Strong scripting skills (Shell scripting preferred).
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments.
- Proven experience in L3 production support and incident resolution.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Good to have Skills
- Experience automating DBA tasks using Python/Bash.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and performance dashboards.
- Understanding high-availability architectures and DR setups.
- Exposure to financial or mission‑critical systems environments.
