The role 

We are seeking an initiative-taking L1 Monitoring Support Engineer for a 2-year fixed-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for the real-time surveillance of our internal IT infrastructure. This is an internal-facing role, where you will provide high-level technical support and monitoring specifically for our internal teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless business operations.  

Work Timings: Candidates must be flexible to work in 24/7 rotational shifts (including night and weekend coverage) to support our global infrastructure. 

Contract duration: 2-year fixed term contract. 

Responsibilities 

  • Monitor internal system alerts and performance metrics to ensure 100% uptime for internal business tools.
  • Identify, document, and escalate technical issues to higher-level teams using Zendesk.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting within Linux and Windows environments to resolve internal service disruptions.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to identify recurring patterns in system behaviourand suggest process improvements. 
  •  Function as the primary technical point of contact for internal clients only, ensuring professional and timely resolution of internal tickets. 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • A foundational understanding of how Operating Systems work and basic Linux command-line skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsto interpret complex monitoring data. 
  • Familiarity with Zendesk for internal incident management and SLA trackingis a plus. 
  • Excellent people skillsto collaborate effectively with internal departments.
