(L0 / L1) Network Security Engineer & Firewall

We are looking for a  Entry-level L1 Firewall & Network Security Engineer to support monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and operational activities of enterprise Firewall and Network Security infrastructure.

The role involves assisting in day-to-day security operations, incident monitoring, ticket handling, and basic implementation support under supervision. The engineer will work closely with SOC, Network Operations, Infrastructure, Service Desk, and OEM TAC teams to support firewall operations, VPN connectivity, and security monitoring activities.

The role focuses on learning and supporting enterprise perimeter security environments while following standard SOPs and escalation processes.

• 0–2 years of experience in IT / Networking / Cybersecurity / Security Operations
  
• Freshers with basic knowledge of networking or cybersecurity concepts are encouraged to apply

• Firewall policy concepts (allow/deny rules, basic rule structure)
  
• VPN basics and connectivity concepts

• Firewall health monitoring concepts
  
• Basic incident/ticket handling workflow
  
• Basic troubleshooting of network/security issues
  
• Understanding of perimeter security concepts
  

• TCP/IP fundamentals
  
• Routing and switching basics
  
• DNS and DHCP concepts
  
• Network ports and protocols
  

• Basic exposure to WAF (F5 or similar)
  
• Awareness of IDS/IPS concepts
  
• Basic understanding of DDoS protection tools
  
• Micro-segmentation awareness (conceptual)
  
• Basic SIEM/SOC awareness
  
• Exposure to cloud concepts (AWS / Azure – basic level)
  
• ServiceNow or any ticketing tool exposure
  
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell / Python – optional advantage)
  

• Monitor firewall and network security dashboards under guidance
  
• Assist in basic troubleshooting and initial incident triaging
  
• Support firewall rule implementation activities under SOP supervision
  
• Monitor VPN connectivity and basic firewall health status
  
• Create, update, and track incident and change tickets
  
• Escalate issues to L2/L3 teams as per defined processes
  
• Support firewall backup checks and basic operational tasks
  
• Coordinate with internal teams and OEM TAC during issue resolution
  
• Maintain basic operational documentation and reports
  
• Follow security SOPs, processes, and change management guidelines
  
• Support 24/7 rotational shift operations
  

• Willingness to learn firewall and network security technologies
  
• Basic understanding of networking or cybersecurity concepts
  
• Good analytical and problem-solving attitude

• Ability to work in a 24/7 rotational shift environment
