Kubernetes Specialist – Networking & GitOps, Lund

Job Description

Do you want to build the foundation that everything else runs on? We're looking for a Kubernetes Specialist to join our IT Platforms team in Lund, where you'll shape an on-prem platform that lets our developers ship quickly, reliably and securely.

Who is your future team?

You'll join IT Platforms, a team of ten who own Axis' global cloud, virtualization and Kubernetes infrastructure. Our goal is to deliver compute resources through different platforms, by utilizing common ways of working and toolsets. This lets teams provision the infrastructure they need themselves, wherever they work.

We act as a secure Platform-as-a-Service foundation, standardising solutions so that development teams can build on a stable, governed base, whether on-premises or in the cloud. Our expertise spans the full compute stack, from virtual machines and containers to cloud-native services, which makes us the team that helps everyone else move confidently into the cloud era.

What you'll do here as Kubernetes Specialist

You'll shape how our Kubernetes platform is designed, run and improved, with networking as your particular area of expertise. It's a role that's felt across the whole engineering organisation: when the platform is solid, everyone else moves faster.

  • Design, build and maintain our enterprise-grade Kubernetes platform

  • Manage and optimise Kubernetes networking, including CNI technologies such as Cilium, ingress and egress traffic, service mesh solutions, network policies, load balancing and DNS integration

  • Drive and maintain our GitOps workflows using tools such as FluxCD, Helm and Kustomize

  • Build and maintain the CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code that support automated deployments

  • Monitor the platform's health, performance and security

  • Troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, networking and applications

  • Work with our development teams to improve platform reliability, deployment processes and cloud-native practices

Who are we looking for?

You enjoy solving complex networking problems, and you care about the people who use what you build. Reliability, security and a good developer experience are things you actively push for, not boxes you tick. Since the role touches infrastructure, security, development and operations, you're comfortable working across team boundaries — and you're the kind of engineer who keeps looking for a better way of doing things.

We'd love to hear that you have:

  • Demonstrated experience running Kubernetes in production, with a solid grasp of its architecture and ecosystem

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes networking concepts and technologies

  • Hands-on experience with GitOps methodologies and tooling

  • Solid Linux administration skills and experience with container technologies such as Docker and containerd

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and with a major cloud platform such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud

Bonus points for:

  • Working knowledge of Cilium, eBPF or service mesh architectures

  • Experience with managed Kubernetes services such as AKS, EKS or GKE

  • Familiarity with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana or OpenTelemetry

  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD or CKS)

  • Experience with container and platform security, or with Zero Trust networking principles
