As our global footprint continues to grow, we are looking for an expert in Regulations including Electrical Safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Energy Efficiency to support our Global Market Access (GMA) team. The ideal candidate will have experience in regulatory compliance, certification requirements, international market access processes and understanding of the main technical characteristics of electrical and electronics products.
As a GMA Knowledge Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting non-wireless regulations with focus in Sub-Saharan Africa region and based in South Africa, supporting research and consulting projects, and providing regulatory guidance to internal and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in helping customers navigate complex regulatory environments and achieve compliance across global markets. our work will focus on analyzing and interpreting global regulations related to Electrical Safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Energy Efficiency Requirements. You will collaborate with internal teams and industry stakeholders to ensure compliance, deliver high-quality knowledge services, and contribute to business expansion initiatives across multiple markets and product categories.
This position offers an opportunity to work with regulators, global manufacturers, certification bodies worldwide while supporting business growth and regulatory intelligence activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the key expert contact for Safety, EMC and Energy Efficiency regulatory and compliance requirements related to global market access with particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate changes in safety, EMC and Energy Efficiency regulations, standards, and certification requirements.
- Support research and consulting projects covering multiple countries, regulations, and electrical & electronics product categories.
- Provide regulatory guidance for electrical & electronics product categories and emerging technologies.
- Support customers and internal stakeholders in understanding regulatory requirements and market access pathways.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, certification organizations, technical services, and industry stakeholders.
- Support GMA business expansion initiatives and track opportunities and business outcomes.
- Prepare regulatory summaries, impact assessments, compliance analyses, and market access guidance documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of global Safety, EMC and Energy Efficiency regulatory frameworks, including regulations. Knowledge of certifications Schemes such as NRCS LOAs, SABS EMC CoC, SONCAP CoC, KEBS CoC, EasyPASS CoC and other PVOC Schemes in Africa will be advantage
- Understanding of electrical & electronics product compliance topics such as Electrical safety, EMC and Energy Efficiency. Basic Knowledge of Product Standards such as IEC, EN, SANS will be advantage
- Deep knowledge of the TIC business and the industries in which the business functions. Able to connect the regulation rules with customer needs and business opportunities.
- Natural influencing skills, confident and able to deliver the message.
- Ability to network and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and lead/facilitate collaboration toward a common goal.
- Able to deal in the ambiguity and take decisions, support customers in understanding their problem and provide valid solutions based on their knowledge schemes and past experiences.
- Experienced and knowledgeable forin a certain geographic area, specific areas of regulations.
- Excellent in communication, able to summarize requirements and articulate effectively.
- Bachelor's Degree Engineering, International Relations, or other specialization based on the specific coverage, Preferred.
