Job Purpose:
The Operations Manager will oversee and ensure day to day efficient operation of the store. The Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining inventory control, product pricing, staff performance and financial management in full accordance with internal and external policies and procedures. In addition the incumbent in this position is responsible to promote positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Minimum of one year experience in a related position in the convenience or Smoke Shop areas. Knowledge of window based computer applications and 10-key ability preferred. Superior verbal/written skills and interaction skills will be needed to fully perform job function. Attention to detail required for reading and interpreting documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
•Oversee efficient day to day operations of convenience clerks department.
•Maintain consistent product inventory levels. Oversee product count and preparations of weekly orders.
•Actively seek new products according to market trends.
•Maintain competitive product pricing through selective comparison shopping.
•Knowledge of state and federal tobacco, merchandise, gasoline and alcohol regulations.
•Responsible for training, scheduling, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions for staff.
•Superior knowledge of retail.
•Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
•Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
•Attend all meetings when requested.
•Position may require working nights, weekends and holidays as required and is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Motivate, encourage, and challenge store cashiers
•Promote and resolve customer complaints, in a timely and professional manner.
•Implement and enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean,
adequately stocked, organized, and well kept.
•Ensure all merchandise is stocked and displays are attractive, priced correctly, and displayed in a safe manner.
•Monitor daily retail gasoline competitors and send the prices to the corporate office in a timely manner as established by management.
•Complete daily paperwork and computer entry in a timely manner as established by management.
•Follow and enforce all Kaw Nation Policies/KNBS and Established Procedures in the store operations
•Implement monthly promotions, insure all POS advertising/signage is properly posted at the proper time.
•Enforce all safety and security issues and report all unsafe conditions.
•Report and process all employee and/ or customer incidents or accidents following company procedure.
Must complete SNAP/EBT training within 30 days of employment.
