ReconCraft is seeking a Kitting Specialist who will be integral to our boat building operations, ensuring that all parts and materials required for boat installations are meticulously organized, assembled, and delivered to the production teams. Your role involves preparing kits based on work orders, optimizing efficiency, and maintaining accuracy throughout our production process.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Kitting and Organization
    • Review work orders and production schedules to determine the necessary parts and materials.
    • Assemble and organize parts into kits based on specific installation requirements.
    • Ensure each kit is complete with all required components, tools, and documentation.
    • Label and package kits for clear identification and ease of distribution.
  • Inventory Management
    • Monitor inventory levels of parts and materials, reporting any shortages or discrepancies.
    • Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to restock and reorder materials as needed.
    • Maintain accurate records of parts used and kits assembled.
  • Quality Control
    • Inspect parts and materials for quality and completeness before assembling kits.
    • Verify that all components meet required specifications and standards.
    • Address and resolve issues with missing or defective parts.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with production teams to understand and fulfill kitting requirements.
    • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of kits.
    • Provide support to the Warehouse Manager and other team members as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Follow safety protocols and best practices while handling parts and materials.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for improving kitting processes and efficiency.
    • Implement best practices and suggest enhancements to streamline operations.

Work Experience:

Kitting Specialist will need 1-3 years’ experience in warehousing and ERP/MRP data entry.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass background check.
  • Proven experience in a kitting, inventory, or warehouse role, preferably in a manufacturing or boat building environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read production travelers, and adhere to standard safety and quality control procedures.
  • Must have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy while working within a fast-paced production environment.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift 50lbs from the floor.
    • Standing for long period of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required.
    • Ability to work long hours, when required, to meet deadlines and other deliverables.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
    • Machine tool training certificates.
    • SolidWorks training certificate.
    • SolidWorks PDM experience.
    • AAS degree in an applicable machine tool field.
    • Demonstrated leadership with a team of 3 or more personnel.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the company, department, and contracts.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
