Organization Overview
The Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism (FAIR) is a nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2021 to advance civil rights and liberties for all people. Rooted in the classical civil rights tradition and the principle that individuals should be treated without regard to race, gender, or other group identity, FAIR works to counter the spread of identity-based ideology across American institutions and to promote a common culture built on fairness, understanding, and humanity.
FAIR pursues this mission through a dual strategy: identifying & supporting precedent-setting litigation that ensures diversity and inclusion efforts remain non-discriminatory, and grassroots, cultural, medical and educational programming that shifts hearts and minds at the community level. FAIR's network includes more than 50 chapters across the United States and Canada, along with professional networks of educators, clinicians, artists, and legal advocates.
Program Areas
FAIR in Medicine: A nonpartisan professional network dedicated to advancing the highest ethical standards in medical practice. FAIR in Medicine raises awareness of unethical and politicized practices in healthcare, promotes scientific debate and inquiry free from ideological pressure, and builds a common medical culture grounded in critical thinking and evidence-based care.
FAIR in the Arts: A professional network championing freedom of expression and excellence in arts, entertainment, and media. FAIR in the Arts provides grants and funding for artists, curates events and mentorship opportunities, and builds a network of advisors, institutions, and enterprises that support artists facing intolerance for their work or viewpoints.
FAIR in Education: FAIR in Education equips teachers, administrators, and school communities with pro-human learning resources and support to build healthy school environments. Its flagship offering is the Many Stories, One Nation (MSON) curriculum an academically rigorous alternative to "liberated" ethnic studies models that gives students a comprehensive view of the contributions of all Americans, paired with the FAIR Pro-Human Learning Standards, literature guides, and the Educators Alliance professional community.
FAIR Legal Network: The FAIR Legal Network identifies and publicizes precedent-setting litigation on behalf of individuals denied equal protection, advises schools and employers on bringing policies into compliance with civil rights law, and equips FAIR members with the tools to challenge discriminatory practices in their own communities.
Chapter Network & Communications: FAIR's grassroots Chapter Network spans more than 50 chapters that host discussions, outreach events, and educational campaigns locally. This work is supported by FAIR's communications, social media, and Substack newsletter operations, which extend FAIR's programs and message to a national audience.
