The South Coast Metro Family YMCA is seeking friendly, service driven individuals for a part-time Kid Zone Program Lead role will assist the Program Director in the supervision of designated department in the areas of health and safety, supervision, program quality, operational effectiveness, and fundraising while creating a safe, welcoming space for children while supporting families and advancing our People Promise through exceptional care, connection, and community impact.

Responsibilities/Duties:
• Ensures compliance with established procedures, policies and standards related to health and safety, exercising independent judgment to do more and apply techniques and procedures. Completes risk assessments and correct deficiencies. Reports incidents promptly.
• Customarily assists in regularly directing work task for a staff team during scheduled shift, enforcement of expectations, and compliance with association standards, regular communication, and modeling of best practices.
• Assists in reports, and other administrative tasks needed for department.
• Provides general oversight to Kid Zone including serving as a manager on duty, enforcing expectation, and ensuring daily checklist are completed.
• Models YMCA values while working with staff, volunteers, members, and community partners.
• Serve as point of contact to resolve member/parent concerns, questions or suggestions while on Duty.
• Carries out all responsibilities and communications in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties & responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.
Education & Certification:
- First Aid and CPR certifications required within the first 60 days of employment. (YMCA offers this training)
Experience & Background:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- 1+ years of related experience and supervision required (in addition to the education off set).
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Excellent planning, organizing, and leadership/supervisory skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Windows/Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer and results orientation.
• Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
• Ability to be an effective member of project teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual fluent in English and Spanish. (YCS Group Facilitator)
