Main purpose

The Key Account Manager (KAM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, maintaining and expanding relationships with strategically important customers in the pharmaceutical industry within the assigned geographical area of the Czech Republic. The role requires leveraging established relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to ensure the successful promotion and distribution of pharmaceutical products.

General responsibility

  • The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing key accounts, building strong long-term relationships, and driving the business forward by understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities, and ensuring the effective delivery of the company's product offerings. The KAM will act as the primary contact for the designated accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering trust.

Core job responsibilities and tasks:

  • Account management: Develop and execute strategic account plans to meet sales targets and objectives.

Maintain and deepen relationships with HCPs, KOLs, and key stakeholders in major institutions.

Regularly meet with customers to understand their needs, challenges, and expectations.

  • Sales Growth: Identify new business opportunities within the assigned accounts and geographical area.

Drive the implementation of marketing and sales strategies tailored to each key account. Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, medical affairs, and logistics, to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align on business goals and strategies.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular reports on account performance, sales activities, and market developments. Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, sales activities, and account management efforts.

  • Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with legal regulations, industry standards, and company policies, particularly regarding interactions with HCPs and KOLs.

Accountability

  • The Key Account Manager will be directly accountable for achieving sales targets, maintaining customer satisfaction, and ensuring the growth and profitability of key accounts within the designated geographical area. The role requires regular reporting to senior management on account performance and strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications and language skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Czech is required; additional language skills are a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of CRM software and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Understanding of pharmaceutical sales processes and regulatory requirements.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a strong background in account management or sales.

  • Established relationships with HCPs and KOLs in major institutions within the designated geographical area.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing key accounts.

  • Experience in developing and executing strategic account plans.
