Reporting to the Customer Development Manager, the position of Key Account Manager requires a sales professional capable of selling the full line of McCain Retail Products and owning the entire sales cycle for assigned accounts and categories. KAM will have responsibility on specified portfolios for Loblaws National, including Fortino's and Shoppers Drug Mart.
How You'll Add Value
- Full portfolio management includes liaising with marketing, Sales Strategy, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Production Planning as well as the customer.
- Develop and manage customer business plans, forecasts, and budgets, creating long-term strategies to deliver against annual objectives
- Maintain proactive customer relationship: Daily interaction with customers (buyers as well as other support departments) -focus on joint business planning: ads, listings, product launches, promotions, and pricing.
- Coordinate and lead customer presentations: ongoing connects, quarterly business reviews, and joint business planning.
- Accountable for Trade Investment - detailed management of trade spend.
- Work with cross-functional team (Supply Chain and Sales Strategy) to forecast the business for production planning
- Owning responsibility for the customer marginal contribution and effectively managing financial objectives.
- Lead Customer Negotiations in conjunction with Finance and Sales Strategy in relation to pricing, promotions, and supply timing.
- Execute product launches including managing store level support to ensure success.
- Maximize Customer Information tools to analyze the business ensuring positive ROI.
About You
- University/College Degree with focus in Business or Finance
- Proven sales skills with past success in maximizing sales through smart negotiations
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated via the ability to use tools to manage the business profitably
- Entrepreneurial mindset: takes initiative to get things done while keeping the company's best interest in mind.
- Strategic thinker who can use advanced analytic skills combined with broader business knowledge to effectively manage full business portfolio.
- Excellent communication skills: able to effectively communicate strategic business ideas, to influence customer using CI tools to create a win-win, and to liaise with various internal departments.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to lead and influence teams, drive change and interact cross-functionally.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and drive multiple programs.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic and detail-oriented team environment
- Loblaws Vendor Portal Experience is an asset (Data Insights and Analytics & Deal Sheet Portal)
- Advanced computer skills, specifically with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI is an asset.
