Job Description:
The Key Account Manager (KAM) at Ipsen plays a crucial role in transforming the lives of those with rare diseases. This position involves creating collaborative partnerships with healthcare professionals and implementing commercial strategies based on scientific research to ensure patient access to Ipsen products.
This is a field‐based role responsible for 1) building and managing long‐term relationships with HCP accounts in their assigned territory and 2) implementing commercial plans based on a deep understanding of the market by utilizing various sources of market intelligence.
The KAM will play a role in educating our rare disease HCP customers about the approved indications, clinical information about the diseases, and the appropriate use of our brands once Marketing Authorization is approved. The KAM will implement disease awareness campaigns at the account level, provide approved product information and programs to improve patient outcomes, meet or exceed sales and market share targets and satisfy customer needs.
This can be achieved by building, maintaining, and leveraging networks and customer relationships to develop and execute effective promotional campaigns to meet customer and Ipsen goals.
Main responsibilities / Job expectations
1. Key Account Management & Sales Targe Achievement
- Develop and execute the hospital‐level key account plans to maximize business opportunities and customer satisfaction in conjunction with the Commercial Lead.
- Implement promotional activities and marketing initiatives to achieve optimal sales performance for the assigned territories.
- Utilize territory sales data and deep customer insights (e.g., patient journey in each hospital) to evaluate and analyze performance and uncover opportunities for growth and risks to address.
- Achieve the formulary listing of our brands in the target hospitals.
- Accurately and timely report sales activities, including daily calls, customer profiles, and customer adoption ladders, via the in‐house CRM program (iEngage).
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analysis.
2. Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Lead the cross‐functional team to take ownership and accountability for tactical projects in the field.
- Evaluate customer’s needs, market conditions, and competitor’s activities.
- Participate in conferences, congresses, and other scientific meetings to educate HCPs on rare disease states and treatments (covered by Ipsen).
- Participate actively in brand meetings to ensure collaboration with major stakeholders and alignment and execution of plans.
- Work with a one‐team mindset to shape and influence a successful Country Brand Operational Plan.
3. Disease Awareness Management
- Raise disease state awareness, educate on diagnostic pathways, and instil an urgency to treat the rare diseases covered by our portfolio.
- identify the educational needs of HCPs and patients to create an optimal level of disease awareness at account level.
4. Setting and delivering outcomes
- Set and achieve ambitious account level goals and objectives by identifying, informing, influencing and leveraging the appropriate internal resources
- Deliver value for Healthcare professionals using the latest and most validated selling and key account management principals
- Create an appropriate level of positive tension in your discussions with clinicians that positions Ipsen products accurately and delivers on outcomes patients are hoping for
5. Behave in a manner consistent with the MA Code of Conduct, The Ipsen Code for Ethical Conduct and the Ipsen Way of Being
- Ensure adherence to Ipsen procedures, working stand a KAM SOP, and the
- implementation of the Ethical Code of Conduct within the Business Unit.
- Champion the IPSEN Way of Being within the IPSEN business & Sales team
- Ensure compliance with Code of Conduct and all applicable laws and compliance codes
- Work in accordance with the Ipsen pharmacovigilance requirements at all times

Knowledge, abilities & experience
Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor of Business / Marketing / Life‐science / Pharmaceutical or a similar discipline
Experience:
- Min. 8 years of experience in Pharma as a Marketer, Medical Representative, or a similar role
- Prior experience working with specialty portfolios, rare diseases, and orphan drugs ‐ a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrated strong capability in account management, superior selling competencies and proven sales performance track record of meeting or exceeding goals in a specialist/hospital or similarly complex environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Languages:
- Fluent in Korean ‐ essential
- Working level written and spoken English.
