THE POSITION

Under the direction of the VP of Client Solutions, this role will be fiscally responsible for the accounts within their portfolio and be the single point of accountability. They will assist in selling creative solutions, help onboard key accounts, and determine innovative ways to continuously improve and retain their accounts. This will be done by supporting the client’s supply chain needs through relationship building, problem-solving, thought leadership, and internal and external collaboration.

 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Successfully build trust with new clients by allowing sales to exit the implementation phase for client onboarding.
  • Grow or maintain key accounts by retaining relationships within your client portfolio at multiple locations and levels.
  • Determine the business review needs of each account and execute those reviews.
  • Leverage technology and market data to analyze customer insights and identify trends affecting volume and profitability, both positively and negatively.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth in volume and profitability and drive business retention or expansion by proposing strategic solutions.
  • Works with and influences the account management team to execute the account strategy and achieve desired results.
  • Be a thought leader to our clients and bring strategies to help them gain a competitive advantage in their market.
  • Prepare and review reports on profitability, volume trends, and service performance to gain insights and identify areas for efficiency improvements and continuous enhancement.
  • Interprets and uses internal/external data, market intelligence (indexes, research, etc.), and customer information (articles, press, etc.) to provide customers with business insights and improve customer outcomes.
  • Stays informed of changes within the customers’ business, industry, and sector through regular customer communication and applies that knowledge to identify new opportunities.
  • Creates annual account/portfolio budgets and plans that are reviewed frequently and managed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for customers within the portfolio, delivering a positive customer experience through proactive professional communication and timely responses.
  • Manages conflict and navigates difficult customer conversations using tact and diplomacy. 
  • Understands payment terms and works with accounting and the client to ensure timely invoicing. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree.

Experience / Training: 3-5 years of related experience in 3PL—additional years of education/experience may be substituted as determined by management. Working knowledge of the transportation industry. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Elevated level of organizational skills and ability to multitask. Ability to read, write, type, and speak English.

Technology / Equipment: Experience working in a Transportation Management System (TMS), Microsoft Power BI, and Excel Pivot Tables.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to continuously sit and use a keyboard, calculator, and telephone. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, and/or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages.
