Your Role: Key Account Manager
As Key Account Manager, you will join the Commercial team on a 12-month maternity-cover assignment, supporting customers across the Munster region. You will develop sustainable partnerships with veterinary practices, farmers and other animal-health stakeholders, using customer value selling, account management and data-driven insights to deliver customer value and achieve sales objectives. This is a field-based role, with approximately 75% of your time spent with customers and some overnight stays.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute account strategies using customer value selling, commercial acumen and customer insights to achieve sales objectives and deliver customer value.
  • Use real-world data and market insights to identify opportunities and influence veterinary, farm-management and animal-health practices.
  • Provide technical and management support to customers, including disease monitoring, management support, tracking and veterinary training.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key accounts, veterinary professionals, farmers, pet owners and other stakeholders through effective communication, negotiation and presentation.
  • Work with the Technical Consultant and wider cross-functional team to deliver customer solutions, maintain accurate records and promote effective working practices across Elanco.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Veterinary Science, Business, Agriculture or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in a commercial, sales or account-management role, ideally within animal health, veterinary services, agriculture or a related industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to use customer insights and data to influence decisions and achieve results.
  • Technical learning agility, with the ability to understand and communicate scientific or veterinary information clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Experience in pet health, veterinary practice, animal-health sales or the ruminant sector.
  • Demonstrated success in persuasion, influence and negotiation with customers or business partners.
  • Experience developing and executing account strategies and managing long-term customer relationships.
  • Experience delivering technical training or presenting scientific information to veterinary or agricultural audiences.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders or leading activities without direct line responsibility.

Additional Information:

  • Travel: Approximately 75% field-based travel, including some overnight stays based on customer and team requirements.
  • Location: Ireland, Munster region. The ideal candidate will be centrally located within the geographical area covered by the role.
  • Work model: Field-based, with digital and virtual technology used where appropriate.
