Role Summary
As a Key Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Napp's commercial objectives by driving the uptake of promoted brands across a designated geographical territory. Through strategic account management, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration, you will develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across primary and specialist care within the NHS.
You will be responsible for achieving sales, profitability, and growth targets by developing and implementing high-quality account plans that align Napp's value propositions with the clinical, operational, and financial priorities of target accounts. Leveraging data, market insights, and omni-channel engagement strategies, you will identify opportunities to enhance patient care while maximizing business performance.
This is a field-based role requiring regular travel across the assigned territory, including engagement with NHS customers, healthcare professionals, and key decision-makers.
Role and Responsibilities
Sales Performance & Business Growth
Deliver defined sales, profitability, and growth targets for promoted brands through a focused key account approach.
Identify and develop new business opportunities that support Napp's strategic objectives.
Drive product adoption and market growth through effective customer engagement and value-based discussions.
Monitor territory performance and implement corrective actions where necessary to ensure target achievement.
Strategic Account Management
Develop and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key customers and stakeholders across the NHS.
Create and execute comprehensive account plans aligned with local healthcare priorities and organizational objectives.
Utilize customer insights, prescribing data, and market intelligence to inform strategic and tactical account plans.
Demonstrate agility in adapting account strategies to changes in local healthcare environments and commissioning structures.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Deliver effective omni-channel engagement with key accounts and stakeholders across primary and specialist care.
Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, formulary decision-makers, commissioners, and key opinion leaders.
Capture customer insights, preferred communication methods, and service expectations to improve future engagement.
Position Napp as a trusted partner by supporting customer priorities and healthcare improvement initiatives.
Partnership Development
Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with customer groups and key opinion leaders within Infectious Diseases and relevant therapy areas.
Collaborate with stakeholders involved in the commissioning, prescribing, and delivery of medicines.
Support initiatives that improve patient outcomes, service delivery, and treatment pathways.
Identify opportunities for collaborative projects that create value for healthcare systems and patients.
Market Analysis & Insight Generation
Continuously analyze market developments, policy changes, and healthcare trends affecting the territory.
Monitor competitor activities and evolving customer needs to identify opportunities and risks.
Generate actionable insights to support business strategy and account planning.
Use available data sources to track performance and optimize customer engagement strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Sales Lead and cross-functional partners including Medical, Market Access, Marketing, and Commercial Excellence teams.
Share customer insights and market intelligence to support broader business objectives.
Collaborate on account strategies, project implementation, and customer solutions.
Proactively identify and resolve challenges while leveraging opportunities to accelerate product growth.
Compliance & Ethics
Ensure all customer interactions and business activities comply with company policies, industry codes, and NHS requirements.
Maintain the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of customer activities and business performance.
Act in accordance with all applicable compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education
Degree-level education preferred in Life Sciences, Business, Healthcare, or a related discipline.
ABPI Qualification required.
Experience
Proven experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
Strong track record in specialist pharmaceutical sales.
Experience working within Secondary Care and NHS environments.
Demonstrated success in Key Account Management within healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors.
Experience developing strategic customer relationships and delivering commercial objectives.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong pharmaceutical sales, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Proven experience in key account planning, execution, and performance monitoring.
Excellent understanding of the NHS, hospital sector, and healthcare decision-making processes.
Knowledge of Infectious Diseases therapy area and associated stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build long-term customer relationships.
