The Role

Job Description

We are looking for a commercially minded and energised Key Account Manager to support growth in our grocery business at the LEGO Group!

In the role you'll be fully in charge of the respective scope of clients: From yearly customer business planning to execution of activities and be proud of seeing own working results coming to life at the POS. In addition of driving the discount business locally, the role is also in the driver’s seat for all other markets the retailers operate in.

Please note: This position will be based in our LEGO® Sales Office in Grasbrunn and will follow a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and up to 2 days remotely. Relocation support is not offered.

Core Responsibilities

  • Commercial Planning: Lead the critical activities that serve as the foundation to collaboratively build and implement integrated business plans that outline strategic, financial and operational plans to deliver short and long term commercial success

  • Commercial Execution: Drive activities for discounters locally and internationally, as well as grocery chains with small formats, which fuel into reaching more kids for the LEGO brand and thereby increase our active consumer share

  • Value-Based Selling: Effectively align the LEGO Customer Value Proposition with specific needs of the customer in a reasoned and compelling way to build trusted partnerships and achieve joint objectives.

  • Mutual Revenue and Profit Growth: Deliver positive impact on profitability for LEGO GmbH and our customers by leading customer initiatives that deliver improved return on investments.

  • Consistent Brand Execution: Collaborate across the LEGO Group to ensure the seamless shopper experience is consistent across all channels and geography in delivering the LEGO Brand values. Use cross-functional insights and analytics to develop (multi-channel) shopper strategies that achieve excellent execution with consistency at all points of purchase.

  • Value Chain Optimization: Understand S&OP process to drive consumer driven agenda with the customer and act in due time on key operational deadlines.

The Key Account Management Team within EUC Sales is in charge of successfully delivering the Customer Value Proposition to our key partners in order to fulfill our Partner Promise of Mutual Value Creation and generate sustainable growth. The Key Account Manager handles relationships and business operations for key grocery (Discount & small formats groceries) customers within the Grocery & Department Store Channel. For the respective Discount retailers, the KAM is also in charge of the international business outside of the D-A-CH Region.

Do you have what it takes

  • Several years working experience in commercial driven functions at international Consumer Goods companies, of which some in Key Account Management front-line roles

  • Proven track record in key customer management, preferably for discounter and grocery

  • Experienced in managing customer P&L (independently)

  • Advanced negotiation skills, assertiveness

  • Relevant experience in multi-channel activations

  • Profound knowledge of MS-Office, especially Excel

  • Proficient in English, German language skills a plus
