We are looking for an experienced Key Account Executive – Modern Trade to manage and grow relationships with major modern trade accounts. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Modern Trade (MT), account management, sales planning, retail execution, and driving revenue through large-format retail chains and organized retail channels.
The role will involve managing key accounts, developing business plans, achieving sales targets, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring strong execution across stores and retail partners.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with key Modern Trade accounts, retail chains, and organized retail partners.
- Develop and execute account-specific sales plans to achieve revenue, volume, distribution, and profitability targets.
- Drive primary and secondary sales across assigned modern trade accounts.
- Build strong relationships with buyers, category managers, commercial teams, and other key stakeholders.
- Negotiate listings, promotions, visibility, pricing, trade schemes, and commercial terms with customers.
- Prepare and execute annual, quarterly, and monthly business plans for assigned accounts.
- Monitor sales performance, stock availability, inventory levels, sell-through, and store-level execution.
- Coordinate with supply chain, finance, marketing, merchandising, and sales teams to ensure smooth account operations.
- Identify opportunities for new product launches, assortment expansion, additional listings, and increased shelf presence.
- Track competitor activities, pricing, promotions, product launches, and market trends within modern trade.
- Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts and present sales performance, growth opportunities, and action plans.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer issues related to orders, billing, supply, promotions, and payments.
- Work closely with merchandising and field sales teams to improve visibility, planogram compliance, and execution at stores.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and provide inputs for demand and inventory planning.
- Track account profitability, trade spends, promotional effectiveness, and ROI.
- Prepare regular MIS reports and performance dashboards for management.
- Strong hands-on experience in Modern Trade (MT) and organized retail.
- Proven experience in Key Account Management and handling large retail customers.
- Strong understanding of modern trade sales processes, retail operations, category management, and trade promotions.
- Excellent negotiation and commercial management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in sales MIS and reporting.
- Ability to manage sales targets, forecasts, budgets, and account profitability.
- Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and merchandising teams.
- Good understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, competition, and retail dynamics.
A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Commerce, or a related discipline is preferred. An MBA in Sales or Marketing will be an added advantage.
