Role Summary:
The role of the Operations Executive will be to supervise and service port operations in order to maintain a positive and heathy relationship with the Port Authority, Immigrations Department, Customs, Principals, vendors and various government authorities enabling smooth transition of day to day documentation/operations and eventually accomplishing speedy turnaround of vessels in accordance with ISS QMS and under strict adherence to local rules and regulations.

Location: Mombasa, Kenya

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handling day to day vessel operations in co-ordination with the main office in accordance with ISS QMS and adhering to local rules.
- Responsible for inward and outward clearance of all vessels at Mombasa handling all vessel & owners’ requirements during port stay, opening and updating all vessel files, Systems and finalise all disbursement accounting procedures relating to vessel calls.
- Handling all husbandry requirements as per vessel / principal requirements in close co-ordination with main office and ensure compliance with the QMS.
- Periodically attending port meetings and collate port vessel movement reports and status update and prepare monthly vessel movement report.
- Maintain good working relationship with the Immigration, Customs, Vendors, Port authority and Principal and all other stakeholders.
- Providing the Marine department with updated information on local rules and regulations and changes as and when notifications are received.
- Arranging crew medicals, shore passes, hot work permits for vessels etc as per vessel / principal requirements in accordance with port procedures.
- Represent the client in all port and vessel related matters by supervising, monitoring and assisting them in the day-to-day operational jobs.
- Assisting and coordinating in any litigation process concerning ISS at Mombasa Terminals and reporting any conflict of interest or vessel incidents which may affect ISS.
- Works as a team with all other operational staff ensuring all regulations are followed and that all port and cargo documentation is in order prior and after departure of vessel(s).
Who You Are:
- 5+ years in a similar position.
- Must possess a Valid driving Licence with Knowledge of operating a Manual Car.
- Degree or Diploma in Marine Studies.
- Competent user of the Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Eligibility to work in Kenya.
