This is a part-time position various shifts with availability Sunday through Saturday,  requiring weekend availability. This position is eligible for discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, DailyPay, hotel and restaurant discounts and more.

SUMMARY 

The houseman is a key individual in achieving the stocking expectations of the back of the house areas as well as the cleanliness of guest floors. The housemen must ensure all linen items are replaced on the landings in a timely manner as well as delivering all required guest room needs to the room attendants in their section. The houseman must ensure all service standards are met as well as budgetary goals and interdepartmental relations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Stock assigned landings with linens, terry, supplies, and robes
• Deliver requested items in a timely manner to both room attendants and guests
• Strip 50-60 rooms per shift or as assigned
• Complete all cleanliness projects on landings and guest floors as assigned by supervisors
• Communicate effectively with room attendants in the section to ensure all needs are accomplished
• Communicate effectively with the laundry department on required linen needs
• Perform linen inventory on a quarterly basis
• Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Must be reliable; willing to work weekends and holidays
• Deliver both guest and associate requests with-in 15 minutes
• Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written (preferred)
• Able to use different types of chemicals
• Requires the ability to work independently and follow directions as assigned by supervisors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Related experience is preferred.

• Is regularly required to stand, walk, and run.
• Must be able to be on one's feet up to 8 hours per day.

• Is regularly required to talk or hear, taste, or smell.
• Is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

Skills Required

  • Must be reliable; willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Deliver guest and associate requests within 15 minutes
  • Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing
  • Able to use different types of cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work independently and follow supervisor directions
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Related hospitality or housekeeping experience
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Able to be on feet up to 8 hours per day; regularly stand, walk, and run
  • Use hands and fingers to handle objects; frequently reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
