Junior Trader – Investment Grade Credit

The Opportunity:
We are actively recruiting for an experienced junior trader to join our IG trading desk in New York. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success combined with well-established industry relationships. We are looking for someone that is ambitious and enthusiastic about implementing new trading ideas, concepts combined with a demonstrated ability to operate within established trading risk parameters.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully manage own trading book and Mesirow’s capital
- Identify trading opportunities and present relative value ideas
- Ability to make markets and provide liquidity to customer base
- Maintain good relationship with clients and broker dealer community
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience trading investment grade credit from either buy side or sell side.
- Knowledge of coding
- A demonstrated track record of successful trading combined with established relationships.
- Series licensed (7 & 63).
- Entrepreneurial, creative and ability to generate trade ideas.
- Ability to work with both salesforce and client base.
To ensure compliance with the NY Pay Transparency Law, anticipated hiring base salary for the role will be between $80,000 and $100,000 per year. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, also provides the opportunity for a discretionary bonus and the Mesirow benefit program.
